Kerim was an excellent host/guide, from answering email inquiries and suggesting a great day trip from Tegucigalpa to guiding us on a hike through Parque Nacional La Tigra. With some extra time, he added in a side trip to El Picacho and let us take in a great panoramic view of the city below. Highly recommend.

I've lived and traveled in Latin America for years and didn't think I needed a guide but reconsidered when I heard the horror stories of the area. Kerim turned out to be a great guide for Tegucigalpa. He knows the city and the history and he knows the hidden spots in the country that will amaze you. Honest and helpful. Speaks English. And he's pretty much ready for whatever happens.

Some times we think that by the fact we are people born on Honduras, we don't need a guide. But not, always it's important count with someone who really knows the country and the best ways to enjoy the travel. If you want to explore Honduras, I really recommend you to take Kerim Perdomo as your travel guide, doesn't matter if you are local or international traveler.

Tegucigalpa has started its turn-around but was still not a place we were comfortable touring on our own so we were very happy to find Intercambio Catracho. Kerim speaks excellent English, replied quickly to my emails, and did a great job at showing us the city he is so proud of. Because there was no-one else on the tour that day, he tailored the sights to what we wanted to see. That included walking around the downtown area to visit the historic buildings and museum, driving through some of the outer suburbs and villages and having a typical Honduran meal at one of his favourite restaurants. Most importantly Kerim was happy to answer our endless questions about Tegucigalpa and Honduras. He also collected us from the airport on arrival day which saved us the hassle of dealing with taxis. I can't recommend Kerim enough, he made our visit to Tegucigalpa interesting and stress-free.

I had selected Kerim and his company to show us around Tegucigalpa for 2 days. He also arranged our transfers from and to the airport. Overall, Kerim's attention and care to our needs was very well met. He knows his country and is proud of it and wishes to make it a pleasant place for tourists. He showed us all the interesting places even though when some of them were not initially included in the tour description. His prices are fair and reasonable.I wholeheartedly endorse Kerim and his company and wish him every success. Please feel rest assured that Kerim will take good care of you.

Even if I only had a couple of hours before flying out of Honduras, Kerim was more than happy to take me to this protected forest at the edge of Tegucigalpa first thing in the morning and made sure I was back to my hotel in time. What I was really interested in was to do some birdwatching and the visit could not be more effective for the little time we had. Kerim was able to get us in and select the most suitable trail quite readily. I enjoyed our conversations, especially the story of how it occurred to him he wanted to start a guiding business, and he also gave me some great tips on how to optimise use of my Canon camera. I would definitely think of Intercambio Catracho if I were to visit Honduras again!

A beautiful and exciting trip! With our trip to Comayagua to see the Semana Santa carpets and processions, Kerim definitely fulfilled his mission of providing a Honduran exchange, “Intercambio Catracho,” that showcases the beauty of Honduras. This tour was one of the most beautiful trips and best experiences I have had during three years living and traveling throughout Central America (Nicaragua, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic).
Kerim is a fantastic guide! He is super nice and funny and has a ton of knowledge about Honduras – the tourist sites, historic sites, hiking and camping sites, and the quaint hidden towns you would never see on your own. I felt very safe during the entire trip. I have travelled on a dime, and I will say, for the cost of this tour I felt I received three times the value. I am definitely looking for another opportunity to take a trip with Intercambio Catracho!

This is a very enthusiastic very nice young man tour travel company bound to make your day wonderful and your suspicions gone regarding travel to Honduras
Kerim is very flexible with schedule, does not overcharge and has a lot to show in and around San Pedro Sula. Also his meal recommendation was spot on, with one of the best seafood soup I had in my life.

Kerim is a proud Honduran who is committed to showing off the beauty of his country and to ensuring that visitors leave with a positive impression. He is very trustworthy, friendly, and knowledgeable about Honduras. He picked me up and we went on a city tour around Tegucigalpa and then to Valle de los Angeles and Santa Lucia -- two lovely towns near the city. We also met up the next day to visit el Picacho and Parque Naciones Unidas. I throughly enjoyed chatting with him and seeing more of the city. He can customize tours to meet your wishes and is really dedicated to making sure you have a good time. Highly recommend!!!

This is the second year in a row that I hired Kerim at intercambio Catracho to assist me in traveling in Honduras. First, he picked up our mission team at the airport then he spent a week with us transporting and guiding our mission team. He became part of our team and assisted us in more ways than I could write. His knowledge of Honduras and professionalism made the whole week go smoothly. For our return to the U.S.A., Kerim delivered us to the airport and then stayed with us through the check in process. He then waited until everyone had cleared the TSA inspections before leaving the airport. Everyone on the team enjoyed his calm and pleasant personality. We will definitely be using Kerim in the future and recommend him to anyone needing first rate personal service in Honduras!

I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Honduras a lifetime ago, I was hesitant to return, but I made the correct choice! Never once during my 2 week vacation, did I feel threatened. If Honduras is on your to do list, do it now, before it explodes and turns into another cookie cutter Americanized destination. Kerim is awesome and extremely flexible. I changed my mind a few times and he always went with the flow. No questions asked. Right on spot with hotel recommendations, and TRUST him when he gives you an estimate on travel time. His vehicles are new, air conditioned and clean. I highly suggest the tour to La Tigra in Tegus and the canopy tour in La Campa/colonial Gracias. Beautiful areas. If you love photography, this is definitely your man - just let him know an he'll hook you up. Once again, I left this beautiful country with tears in my eyes. Hope to return next year. If I do, I will certainly seek out Kerim.

Bueno! Absolutely Bueno!!! I am a first visitor to Tegucigalpa (and Honduras) and came to visit kids that I help sponsor at a school here. While here, I wanted to learn a bit more about the Country than what I was exposed to on the hotel TV channels. My tour with Kerim far exceeded my expectations. Kerim is obviously proud of his homeland and gave up a successful career to try to promote understanding and appreciation for his proud Country via the tour company.. (Unlike some tour operators, he was also willing to discuss not only the Country's strengths and beauty, but also challenges). Kerim was more than willing to slightly adjust the itinerary and discussions to meet special interests. His experience helped guide me to some wonderful photo opportunities, but also locally owned shops, artisans and dining. Kerim even went beyond expectations in that he inspected each item that I had selected to buy and in one case, noted damage that I had missed, and arranged with artisan to replace the damaged part. Kerim repeatedly Thanked me for my trust. Kerim, Thank you. My trust was well placed. I hope to return to Honduras again and will definitely work through Kerim to schedule future trips.

Kerim Perdomo, of Intercambio Catracho, is honest, authentic, and sincere. We communicated via email (his English is excellent) until we met in person at TGU, where he was waiting for me in the Arrivals Hall. He is a professional, not only dressed accordingly but equipped with a new, clean Toyota van. (And given the amount of driving we did over the next three days, it's vital to add that he is a good and safe driver.) He is knowledgeable about his country, and he is passionate about the development of Honduras.
He is adamant about making a good impression, and this reveals itself while walking through the streets of Tegucigalpa, the cobble-stoned alleyways of Santa Lucia, or the cavernous depths of the Taulabe Caves. Kerim is the premier tour operator in Tegucigalpa, San Pedro Sula, and the surrounding areas. Honduras seems to focus so much of its marketing on Roatan; thus, it stands to reason that tourism professionals flock to Roatan as well. But Kerim is on the ground, on the Honduran mainland, as he believes that Honduras has more to offer than scuba. And he is right. Tegucigalpa, Comayagua, Santa Lucia . . . are beautiful. (And I don't believe I'd have seen Comayagua and Santa Lucia had it not been for Kerim.)
I consider myself a traveler, not a tourist. Very likely, Kerim was able to meet my needs because he, too, is a traveler. He's been to the USA many times (he is passionate about photography and music), and he has traveled to El Salvador, Costa Rica, and Guatemala. He understands what a traveler wants to see and do; he "gets it."
If you're thinking about taking a trip to Honduras, know that you have a friend on the ground. Kerim Perdomo, of Intercambio Catracho, is a stand-up guy who who will show you the beauty of Honduras.

Contacted Kerim through the internet , based on the favourable reports on Tripadvisor.
We were a group of 4 colleagues who wanted to see a bit of Honduras after completion of our jobs in Tegucigalpa. We had immediate contact and Kerim was very helpful in the process of establishing what would be possible to see during our 3 day road trip. We had long and interesting days - driving a total of 1200 km on the not very good roads.
Our wishes were: nature, trecking, gastronomy, local life (no churches, monuments or museums). accomodation should be clean, safe and economical.
Kerim understood our wishes and we planned a trip from Tegucigalpa to Tela and La Ceiba. Caves, natural parks, microbrewery and a visit to a very local restaurant - they had been serving the same dish breakfast, lunch and dinner for more that 20 years and the place is still full.
We loved the natural parks .
Sometimes our wishes differed in the group and Kerim displayed extreme diplomacy to make everything work out anyhow.
Honduras has a bad reputation for crime and I am sure that you should be cauteous.
We only met friendly people, we did not feel threatened and nobody tried to rip us off.
Kerim is very knowledagble about his country and our conversations gave us a nuanced picture of Honduras.
I have no hesistation in recommending him as guide and driver if you plan a roadtrip in Honduras

I was a bit skeptical of my visiting Honduras, due to all the information found on-line about the dangers in San Pedro Sula, and cities of Honduras. Kerim changed that concept completely, and took me on a road trip through western Honduras that left me with nothing more than wonderful memories of kind and hospitable people, beautiful colonial towns, fresh and exciting coffee, and a deep exchange of conversations. He is a passionate person with a mission. I am so privileged to have been a part of his vision to change Honduras for the better.
Go visit Honduras, and enjoy the company of Kerim!
